From scheduling the initial appointment to the post-surgery follow-up visits, the entire process was seamless. Every staff member was friendly, happy to answer questions, and made the experience easy and reassuring. The Surgery Center provides truly first-class care, making each patient feel valued and well cared for. Had a complete right knee replacement March 9th, 2026. From the first appointment with Dr. Friederichs  everything was explained so well about the knee replacement process. The iovers  numbing agent worked well. All the staff were so professional and kind. I appreciated the directness of what to expect and the concern of how I was feeling and doing. Was it painful ? Dr. Friederichs performed my total knee replacement Dec 2025.. I am 100% satisfied! Dr Friederichs  answered all my questions. I received clear pre and post op instructions. My experience with OrthoDakota was positive from the minute I placed the first phone call. I recommend Dr. Friedrichs and his staff without hesitation. I was seeking my second shoulder replacement on the same shoulder---the first surgery was at a different facility and it failed within 6 months, resulting in acute pain for 18 months. Dr. Friedrichs put me at ease immediately at my first visit and we scheduled a surgery date. I am recovering so much faster than with the first one and the pain is gone. Dr Friedrichs is a true professional who gave me excellent care answering all my husbands and my questions. I met him when he took care of my teenage son when he had an abnormal growth on his leg that needed surgery. I love how the whole staff is super friendly. Even others in the medical profession have commented,  how when they called about questions regarding my knee surgery, that they knew exactly who I was and were super friendly and very helpful. I saw Alex Lunneborg, PA-C, this morning for hip pain (chronic bursitis). They took xrays and gave me a nearly painless injection to help me out. I appreciate how promptly they were able to see me after my referral from my provider.  I'm very happy with my visit and plan to see him again, if or when the pain comes back. Thank you. I had my first knee replacement the end of February and was back at work 4 weeks later!  Procedure went so well, I had a second one done on my other leg the beginning of August!  In both cases, I was treated with great care and attention, from my first consult with Dr. Friederichs,  my Iovera procedure with Alex, the staff at the Center for Surgery, to the clinic staff and to Apex Physical Therapy (Shout out to Adrienne!).  I cannot stress how they all made these procedures as stress-free, pain lessening, and  efficient as possible! I am so happy to have done this and chosen  this facility , doctor and staff! YOU CAN STOP LOOKING NOW, YOU'VE FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE! Sometimes in life you meet people that clearly know what they are doing and exude proficiency, capability, and understanding. Dr. Matthew Friederichs is one of those people. I had a torn meniscus that needed surgery in my right knee. As a drummer, my right knee is really important. While it was torn, I couldn't play the kick drum, and I was really worried about what my long term prognosis would be as far as continuing to play. Dr. Friederichs, and Ortho Dakota were recommended by a person I trust, so that's where I went. It turned out to be the best decision I could make. From the first minute meeting Dr. Friederichs I knew I was in good hands. He knew exactly what was wrong with my knee, describing the injury pain, and the reduction in capability of the knee to function properly before I described what was going on. He knew exactly what it would take to fix it, describing how the surgical process would go from when I walk in the door, to when I ride out on a wheel chair (and honestly if it weren't for policies I could've walked out, the surgery was so easy). He knew exactly how it would feel afterwards, and what recovery and long term would look like. And he has been absolutely right on all accounts. It's now been 3 months, and my knee feels as strong as ever. I cannot recommend Dr. Friederichs and Ortho Dakota highly enough. Everyone at and with OrthoDakota are exceptional people! Dr Friederichs and Alex Lunneborg are orthopedic experts. My whole experience for knee replacement from start to finish on a scale of 1 to 10 was a 15. They are a state of the art facility, and explained everything so that I had absolutely no questions after meeting with them. I opted for the Iovera shot to block and relieve pain and it was a game changer. I was back to work after a week at my desk job and was walking without a walker or cane. I want to thank the doctors, nurses and staff for a great job and experience. Today May 14 2025 I had my yearly x-ray and check up and I am happy to report that things have gone excellent and I am ecstatic about the great care and concern that ortho Dacota has for my well-being. The facility is so warm and welcoming. I had moved out of the area and was so happy with everyone there that I make the trip back and if I ever needed anything else done, I would definitely be driving back to see them to have them take care of me!

Dr. Friederichs was great. I have friends that had shoulder surgery at other facilities and talked about how uncomfortable and painful their recovery was. And I was not looking forward to the after surgery recovery. But thanks to Dr. Friederichs being such a skillful surgeon my recovery was almost painless. FIRST, the staff is GREAT! SO friendly! I've known Dr. Friederichs for 17 years, and I can only say, he's the ONLY doctor I would go to for shoulder surgery! He fixed one shoulder impingement issue and the other more recent, impingement, bone spurs, and rotator cuff repair due to the bone spurs. Recovery is going well! Thank you SO MUCH, Dr. Friederichs! Dr. Fiederichs and his crew are truly professionals in their field. I unfortunately have been through numerous surgeries through the years and never have had the level of treatment they provided. Dr. Friederichs and his team are phenomenal. From taking the time at our first visit to explain all of my options and answer my questions without pressuring me one way or the other, to excellent care day of surgery, to working with me to keep my pain well managed post surgery, to frequent check ins for the year post surgery, I've been treated like an individual who matters. The actual surgical repair was very well done, and I'm back to full function with zero complaints. Highly recommend Dr. Friederichs, his PA Alex, and the rest of his team. Limped in with a bad knee and saw Alex for an Iovera. Left without a limp and can't believe how much it's helped relieve the pain in such a short time. So very glad to learn about this procedure!! Our experience at Ortho Dakota was wonderful. Our son suffered a football (knee) injury and Dr. Friederichs went above and beyond with figuring out exactly what we needed to do to get him back on track. He even called us at night to discuss the MRI findings because he knew we were very concerned! I couldn't have asked for a better experience for a short-notice arthroscopic surgery. Ortho Dakota took care of business quickly and painlessly to figure out what we needed to do. Once we knew I needed surgery, Dr. Friederichs and the Center for Special Surgery team were great. They were really friendly and it was a quick and easy process from checking in, to surgery prep, to surgery, and being discharged. They were all on the same page and left no doubt that I was being taken care of and comfortable.  The results of the surgery are much better than I could have expected. OrthoDakota treated my Mom for her torn quad tendon.  I just can’t recommend these folks enough!  My Mom was treated as a person and not just a number, she had the best care both pre and post surgery, and OrthoDakota staff as well as the doctors are exactly what one prefers. I had a shoulder surgical procedure at Ortho Dakota in May of 2024. From the initial consult to surgery to post operative care, I found nothing but excellence from Dr. Frederichs and his staff.  I also appreciated the speed at which I was able to get scheduled for all appointments including imaging and the surgery itself. It’s been about 7 weeks since my surgery and I feel much better than I could have hoped for.  Compared to before to my surgery pain levels have decreased dramatically and I expect to keep getting stronger. I have had four surgeries with Dr. Freiderichs and one more to go. I have nothing but good things to say about his practice & staff. They get back to you immediately & effortlessly. They are easy to get an appointment with & there is a PT facility in the same building, which makes things easy. I have nothing but high praise for Dr. Freiderichs & Alex. I had my knee replace by Dr. Friederichs in June 2023 and couldn't be happier! Dr. was very clear when explaining the procedure and what to expect after. He is professional yet very personable. Dr Matt Friederich is the absolute best! Orthodakota uses the robotic Stryker Mako system. An excellent surgeon and team along with Stryker Mako made for a smooth wonderful recovery! I have had 2 total knee replacements performed by Dr Friederichs in the last 8 months.  My first was in August, 2023 & I prayed it would go well so I was brave enough to have the other knee replaced because it was also bone on bone.  God answered my prayers & in early March, 2024 I had my 2nd knee replacement!  I am so grateful for the care & encouragement Dr Friederichs & his team provided for me on my journey to increased mobility without constant pain.  If you or a loved one have need for orthopedic services I highly recommend Dr Friederichs & his team at Ortho Dakota!  One more recommendation I’ll add is when you are planning for a total knee replacement do some pre-surgery strengthening & stretching exercises because it will make the rehab post surgery much easier!

I can't thank Dr. Freiderichs and his staff enough!! Out of no where, my knee swelled up and was very painful.  10 months of suffering, 5 of those months on crutches.  One ortho doc, one ortho surgeon, 2 MRIs and 4 months of PT only to be told they couldn't figure out what was wrong and recommended MORE waiting!!! Thankfully, someone recommended Dr. Freiderichs.  He looked at the same MRIs and found a tear in my meniscus.  Scoped my knee and found not one, but two tears and damaged cartilage. Recovery? Only took pain meds the day of and the day after surgery. Two small incisions - barely visible, no bruising and less swelling than before the surgery.  I still can't believe it!  The quality of care is above and beyond!  Everyone is so friendly and caring - everything runs like a well-oiled machine!  I can finally bend my knee, walk down stairs, no more pain, and best of all - peace of mind of knowing what was wrong and that it's now repaired!!! When Manitoba Health abandoned me with a massive rotator cuff tear, Dr. Matt Friederichs and his wife Julie were only too willing to help. The service I received was second to none and the price tag highly competitive. Dr. Friederichs was professional and very competent while Julie and the office staff were friendly and abundantly helpful.  I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Freiderichs, Julie, and the entire Orthodakota team to anyone needing knee or shoulder surgery. Their combination of expertise, compassion, and dedication to patient care is truly remarkable.
